APPAREL & TEXTILE INNOVATION

Maya is a Fashion & Textile Designer and researcher working at the intersection of materials, technology, and the moving body.

She combines her expertise in engineered seamless knitting, computational design, and digital fabrication to create high-performance, functional products and innovative solutions that have resulted in multiple patented inventions and international design awards.

Her industry experience includes leading advanced innovation concepts for global brands as part of R&D and Digital Innovation teams, specializing in the research and development of innovative design workflows, integrating 3D printing into apparel design, developing patented solutions in engineered knitwear, especially seamless knitting for performance activewear and intimates, and translating innovation projects into scalable commercial products.

Maya holds a B.F.A. in Fashion & Footwear Design from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Industrial Design at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

Alongside her industry work, she is a researcher at the Coded Matter Design Lab, focusing on pioneering 3D-printed textile structures, the integration of 3D printing into apparel design, and the development of innovative digital design workflows for the future of fashion and textiles.

WORKFLOWS

My process explores the meeting point between computational design and craft. Through algorithm-based workflows, parametric modeling, and digital fabrication, I develop forms and structures that are shaped by both coded logic and material behavior. Each project evolves through an iterative dialogue between digital precision and hands-on experimentation.
